So far so good! 4 stars as there is always room for improvement! That being said, I've played a lot of Puzzle Quest over the years, and this one is a lot of fun! I enjoy Marvel and can be a Puzzle Quest addict so this is a winning combination for me. For the people who say the game cheats, I find the AI in this pretty decent. I have played against way worse AIs in Puzzle Quests. My only hint is, the match the game suggests you make, is seldom the right one to make.
Very fun after playing for a while I have good characters after a year with out paying for anything. It takes a while to build up, but the new personal rank system looks like it will help with iso-8 which levels up your chracters. If the game has a major glitch they seem to fix it within the week and hook you up a bit with coins and all that to make up for it. I still don't like that if my game crashes in the middle of a match, that my characters are automatically deducted health or downed when I reopen the game.
Fun and free to play, but needs cash Be ready to feel constrained for a while if you don't plan on spending some money on roster slots. However, given enough time, you'll start earning hero points (hp) as you place higher in PvE and PvP events. The removal of HP for hero covers also greatly minimizes the 'pay to advance' feel it once had. It now uses Command Points (cp) which can also be gained in-game. That said, it's a fun time sink, and SHIELD ranks help progress now.
Marvel's comic cover collecting match 3 The game is really fun. You collect comic covers, which are heroes/powers, to battle in a match 3 style game. It's great for a Marvel fan like me. The only down side is the high price to expand your roster. You can earn hero points in game to expand the roster but the price climbs higher, making it impossible to collect new covers without spending real money. This issue is strange because it prevents you from collecting more, even though the idea is to collect more. The price to expand should be a lot lower
RNGessus determines progression Overall very enjoyable. However progress & hero advancement is 100% random lottery rolls. Two players can put in the same work and have vastly different results. It get more pronounced with each rarity tier, and the 5 star tier especially. Wallet warriors can brute force the RNG by just buying tons of hero coins packs, so end game pvp is pay to win sadly. That being said, the brand new shield ranking of patch 108 is a VERY welcome addition for vets, and will probably hook in newbies too in a good way.
Love it! This game almost has it all for Marvel fans. Casual or competitive players can find their path on this journey. The personalities of the characters shine in the storytelling and powers. The comprehensive approach taken by the techs even overcame a hardware curve ball I threw at them! Yes, there are things I still wish to see out of this endeavor. Yet, with the way the programming team is constantly readjusting; I have faith in this golden goose.
