Risetime clock is for everything that has to ring. A clock app for Android: alarms at a fixed time or following the sun, like sunrise or sunset, and timers that repeat and chain. No ads ever and completely offline.
WILL IT RING?
Risetime's alarms use Android's own alarm clock, the same system mechanism as your phone's built-in clock app. They ring through Doze mode and battery saving, and after a restart, even before you first unlock the phone. Settings › Reliability checks what your phone needs, with a Fix button for each missing item.
ALARMS: A CLOCK TIME, OR A MOMENT OF THE SUN
Set an alarm at 07:00, or on sunrise, sunset or solar noon, with an offset: "45 minutes before sunrise", "1 hour before sunset". Risetime computes the time on your phone, every day, so the alarm follows the seasons without you touching it.
Four built-in moments aren't the whole sky. Make your own anchor, and name it:
• a sun angle: civil dawn at 6° below the horizon, nautical at 12°, astronomical at 18°, or low golden light at 6° above
• a shadow length: the moment a shadow reaches a multiple of the object's height
• a fraction of the day or the night: the last sixth of the night, whatever the season
Calibrate an anchor by up to thirty minutes to match the timetable you follow. Where an angle is never reached for part of the year, Risetime gives the dates and stays silent rather than invent a time.
Each alarm has its own sound, snooze and dismiss image. Skip just the next ring for a day off, without switching the alarm off. The dismiss screen takes the colour of the sky at the alarm's time and fades in from black.
TIMERS: ONE, OR A SEQUENCE THAT LOOPS
Type a duration on a keypad, up to 99 hours. Run several timers side by side.
Add a second timer to a timer and they become a sequence: when one reaches zero, the next starts on its own. Each handover gives an intermediate ring, once, as a notification, with no ringing screen. The end gives the full ring with the ringing screen, like an alarm, or the intermediate one if you prefer.
Loop says how many times a sequence runs: once, 2 to 99 rounds, or until you stop it. Rounds stay in step, so twenty-five plus five is always thirty minutes. Skip ahead, go back, or add a few minutes without stopping anything. A sequence can have its own sounds, and an intermediate ring when you press play.
The countdown in your notification shade is drawn by Android itself and keeps ticking with the app closed.
