About this app

Scanly scans a document with your phone camera and gets the text out of it. Text extraction supports Latin script only; pages in other scripts can still be scanned and saved as a PDF.

Point the camera at a page. Scanly finds the edges, straightens the page and reads the text on it. You can copy that text in one tap, export a searchable PDF whose words a page search can actually find, pull a table straight into a real Excel spreadsheet, or put both sides of an ID card onto one true size page.

WHAT SCANLY DOES NOT DO
Text extraction covers Latin script only. An Urdu, Arabic or Punjabi document still scans and exports as a PDF, but Scanly cannot read the words out of it. Check extracted text and table cells before relying on them.

Editing text directly on a scanned page is best effort. It redraws with the closest bundled font rather than the original typeface, and a textured or photographic background can leave a faint patch.

The signature tool places an image of your drawn or imported signature on a page. ID card mode creates a card copy; it does not verify identity.

Every export on the free plan carries one small watermark in the bottom corner.

Text extraction, translation and explanations are processed on Deplyra servers, so this is not an offline only app and not end to end encrypted. The Document and Text camera modes fall back to on device recognition when there is no network. Your documents are never used to train AI models, and deleting your account deletes your data.
