Music Album Recognition and Collection

Other features: manual search, filter by details, export collection to CSV, add custom records, add app localization, create a Spotify playlist.

Identifying LPs or CDs by typing complex serial numbers on a small smartphone keyboard can be frustrating. Record Scanner reduces this process to two simple steps:

1. Take a photo of the cover
2. Specify your record format (CD / LP / Cassette)

And that's it!

Record Scanner enables you to have your full collection at hand - hundreds of records in your pocket!

Scan Vinyl Record & CD Covers for Price Check

- A huge delivery just arrived at the record store you own and you need to quickly price all the records. Try this path: record => smartphone => photo => average prices online.
- You see an interesting record sale offer online: a lot of photos of records for sale and one price for them all. Use Record Scanner to quickly check their individual prices.
- You just realized that Discogs has a great collection manager feature - it might be worth it to list hundreds of your records there. Listing all your records might take weeks... Not with this fancy mobile app!

Only used the app for one day and 12 albums, but liking it so far. It's nice that I just take a pic of the album cover and the app finds the relevant info. One thing I noted, because albums might be reproduced or pressed in different countries, the catalog number can be different. Even though the record cover and tracklist matched, I want to be as accurate as possible. Finally, what is the COLOR field for - record color or jacket color?

Great way to organize your collection. I have two occasions bought a second copy of an album, not realizing I already had it; never again. Of course, that's been over the course of 50+ years. I do wish the organizing tool could put the collection in alpha order, but that might cause issues with bands like "Uriah Heep" (characters proper name) and all of the bands begining with "The". I have shared collections with others, which is pretty cool.

Thanks you for the review Barry! If you go to the "Collection", and press the 🎚️ (sliders) icon you will be able to access sorting options. There's also an option to handle "Uriah Heep" case - you can simply edit a field used for sorting (artist sort name) if you chose "Edit details" for specific record. Tried to use discogs for years, but for whatever reason I had a hard time going through the exercise of entering my entire 1000 record collection. Recently tried ALL the different collection apps in the app store and Record Scanner was by far my favorite. With its different scanning capabilities I was able to easily enter my entire collection in about a week. It includes record values but my understanding is they aren't real time, but eventually will be. Looking forward to that addition.

What's new

🆙 The option to pick random records from the collection now respects filters! (Thank you Stéphane for the suggestion). You can now select a random item from a specific set of records 🎲
