The latest version (January 2026) is awful. I can no longer find closings and delays, which used to be a standard button on the weather page. There is also no search feature or way to go to a specific page (ie Operation Basketball.) I'm almost ready to uninstall the app and find one from a different local news station. This is coming from a loyal watcher and user of the app.

I FOUND A FIX FOR THE TERRIBLE APP (tested on Android, Pixel6Pro). Go to WTHR's website homepage in the Chrome app. Then press the "..." options button, then click "Add to Home screen". It will add their website to your home screen as an app, but won't reopen the website as a browsing tab in Chrome. I wish they would just fix the app but this is a decent alternative that is actually functional with at least a few of the normal functions of the previous app, notifications aside, unfortunately.

the new update prior to 2/1/26 is horrible! it is very difficult to function in the app. links to stories in the website take me to different stories. when I hit the home button the story isn't listed. sometimes scrolling in a story is too sensitive and it will back me out of a story. I cannot close the app by swiping left. I have to swipe up.
