Use this for 5 to 10 minutes every day and you really will learn other languages. It has reading, writing, listening, talking and matching tasks so every aspect of learning is covered. Sometimes one of the natives talks too fast on my Spanish course... But this is very like reality and living amongst native speakers. I love this app and encourage all my English students to use it daily too.
Great App! This app makes it fun to learn a new language and is very easy to use. Im currently learning Japanese off of this app and I use it around 20-60 minutes a day. I've learned a lot! The only thing that worries me is that isn't doesn't have the Katakana alphabet for Japanese only the Hiragana alphabet. I had to download another app to learn the Katakana alphabet, but other than that it's really fun. I highly recommend it whether you're starting from scratch or relearning a language.
I think that Duolingo is the easiest way to learn the vocabulary and then conjugations, but it's not quite enough to become fluent. You gotta do a lot of extra work for that. That being said, for a mobile app, it's great and you can connect with your friends and form clubs and the competition keeps you going. I'll review again when I've completed a language. Anyway, it's quick and easy to do each day. The interface is very pleasing.
the microphone doesn't work on my Android 5.1 it just stays inactive.. all permissions to use mic are allowed but it just dull. All other apps work fine with mic. Please fix this issue I remember a couple of months ago Duolingo worked fine with a mic on my phone. And as I've just noticed the keyboard also stucks from time to time when you need to type something. This only happens in Duolingo app on my device.
I've been using only the mobile app and accidentally found out about the website, where even the Tips and notes are. That would change so much! Now it's just intuitive practising. If you finally added the Tips and notes section to the app, that would make Duolingo an actual app for LEARNING, not just practising something you don't really understand. Plus would be cool to have speaking exercises for every language. Anyway, the best app I've found so far - please add more languages, eg Lithuanian!
I love this app. I have tried other apps to learn Spanish and this, by far, is the best one. It has some difficulty with the voice recognition but every voice regonition software does. Keep up the good work Dev's - GS3 11/2017- Still using app years later to keep fresh. Don't like ads but understand why they were added. GS7-edge
