Prior to the update of the user interface, it was a solid, enjoyable, easy to navigate, and clear app. Since the update was implemented where it is now like a road map, it turned to trash. You can repeat that same courses over and over to earn points (previously restricted to two times), it's not easy to locate specific topics, and it limits flexibility and individual preferences. As of the time of this review, I'm at a 700-day streak, but will look to cancel my subscription shortly.

I'm not a fan of the restructuring. I don't like the linear track. I was hoping that the subscription would improve my experience. It got rid of the ads, but that benefit is hardly worth the price. I like to have more control over my learning and the new version hinders that. I like to review old exercises regularly before I plow through new material. Please go back Duo! I've been with Duolingo for 3 years and it's been great, but not as much now.

Like others, I'm not a fan of the new format. It makes learning more frustrating because it makes it easier to fail. I've been stuck on levels forever, esp. because new words and concepts are introduce before I've mastered another. I feel like this new format is to encourage upgrading (money) over learning. Once I lose hearts, I can't even keep going. Sucks
