Excellent Tool There are plenty of people who wants to learn languages but do not have much free time for it. This is an amazing opportunity for those. Also its teaching methods are good, worths trying.
Fun and useful I've been using duolingo for a few days and it's actually a lot of fun! I started using it to improve my French (2nd language living in bilingual city) which is already good and I don't know how much it's helped so far, but definitely better than wasting time on social media or phone games. Perfect for bus rides

Great start The app is a great start for learning a language. Its fun and engaging and intelligently designed. However it does get repetitive, and lacks theory when it comes to grammar or conjugating, which is only rarely covered by the Q and A section. I would recommend combining its great daily activities with some theory and live conversation practice if you can! I've been using it for Hungarian for reference.
Fun and easy! Wish I had had this as a high school Spanish student. It's amazing-- I have been using it less than a week, and I can already say lots of simple things in Dutch. The audio is amazing! The constant interaction and drill make time spent with Duo much more productive than reading a textbook. I wouldn't say it replaces old fashioned approaches like grammar lectures and conversation practice, but it complements those things beautifully.
Good, but can improve Considering this app is free, it is very good. One of the ways it could improve, is to teach from the start some of the basics of grammar, and not just vocabulary; clear showing of how to conjugate verbs and such depending on context. At the moment it's a bit of a guessing game. I have only been using this for about 5 days now. So will see if this improves as I progress.
