I really preferred the old layout. It made it so much more encouraging to be doing lessons because I could choose what to work on rather than having to get through a specific lesson before doing something else. It would be great if it switched back or even gave the option to switch as I'm seeing other reviews with a similar complaints. Duolingo used to be much more fun like a game, but now it just feels like a completion thing

Update to edit: more than 50% of earned XP is not accounted for. That's a huge discrepancy and I can't believe it's gone on so long without a fix. ETA: points have been inaccurate for some time now. Earn 15 points, only 5 added to total. Earn 30, only 13 points added. Tried restarting the app, lost 60 points. It's insane. Very frustrating. Previous review still stands : I'm sorry, but the new version is terrible. I liked being able to go back and practice some of the harder lessons.

New layout of lessons is awful. I have to scroll for centuries to get to the topic I want to master. Also, XP is not added properly to the total. One time, I earned 40 points and got NOTHING in total score. One time, I earned 30 points, and I even lost 10 points in total score. How was it possible? Duo is not fun anymore but really frustrating. Every time I update the app I hope they would return the original layout, but no. It disappoints me again and again.
