The Duolingo English Test (DET) mobile app provides a stable, secure test setup experience. It does not replace the desktop app for taking the test itself.

Test takers will use the app to:

• Submit their ID information
• Scan their face and ID
• Complete their room scan and ear scan
• Set up their phone to record their computer

Stressful even before the test. The setting timing is over because I can't get right the position of phone camera to record my laptop. Although I have adjusted as the recommendation position and youtube video. I still can't get the right position. Moreover, I can't get a certificate and don't get refund because using the headset, but this one is my fault.

In my experience, the Duolingo English Test is extremely unfriendly to candidates with unstable internet, especially in developing countries. Even when you complete the test honestly, small network or camera issues can cause the test to be not certified, which is very frustrating. What is most painful is that you only find out after finishing the test, when your time, effort, and money are already spent. There is not enough clear warning beforehand about how strict and unforgiving the system is.

This app has a disproportionate amount of negative reviews, because the few people who had negative experiences are the only ones reviewing it. trust me, the app is fine. set up was long and cumbersome, but it was not hard, and I had no issues following the instructions, which are very clear might I add.
