For a bit you could watch ads to recharge but would otherwise have uninterrupted access to lessons. Now they are back to forcing ads on you, which is fine since it's the free version, but the forced ads don't restore your energy. So you still end up having to watch the optional ones. And of course XP boosts are draining while the ads are playing. I don't mind ads, I just wish it wasn't always about making the ad-supported version as annoying as possible to drive subscriptions.

first off I'm on a 392 day streak so I've used it for a bit. two huge, major, gigantic problems. 1) in Japanese when you have to type out a word sometimes completely randomly it will tell you you're wrong. 2) requiring you to spend $30 so it can explain your mistakes is an absolute joke. how are you supposed to learn a language when it refuses to tell you why you mess up. it's not a good app and I will be looking for a replacement ASAP. 1/5 I hate this all with a burning passion

It has an amazing amount of languages to choose from. This is a good app to learn foreign languages by total immersion. I wish it would teach me the rules of the language instead of having me figure it out myself. EDIT: The new "energy" system is simply a new way to pressure you into clicking ads, it takes away all the fun of using the app and it's unfair to basically act as ransomware by stopping your nearly complete perfect lesson and forcing you to either lose your progress or watch ads. 🫩
