Power Geez is a fast, flexible Amharic keyboard designed for everyday Ethiopian typing.

Write Amharic naturally using the keyboard style you prefer. Type with an English QWERTY keyboard using phonetic Amharic suggestions, or use the direct Amharic Fidel keyboard for traditional Ethiopic input.

SMART AMHARIC SUGGESTIONS

Type Amharic words using familiar English letters and choose the matching Ethiopic suggestion.

Suggestions are phonetic transliterations, not English-to-Amharic translations. The suggestion engine is optimized for common Ethiopian spelling habits, including sh, s, q, gn, and everyday spellings for Ethiopic vowel forms.

ENGLISH AND AMHARIC SUGGESTION SOURCES

While using the English keyboard, use the compact EN/አ control to choose the suggestion language:

• En provides English suggestions.
• አ provides Amharic phonetic suggestions.
• The selected source is remembered for your next session.
• English mode keeps normal spaces and never replaces the English word you typed.

The “Select suggestion with space key” feature is off by default. You can enable it when you want the top Amharic suggestion to replace the typed phonetic word after pressing space.

DIRECT AMHARIC FIDEL KEYBOARD

Use the Amharic keyboard layout to type Ethiopic letters directly. Tap a family key to enter a base character, choose the required Fidel form from the Smart Bar, or use long press for quick access to related forms.

CUSTOMIZATION HUB

Open the in-keyboard customization hub from the Smart Bar to quickly access your keyboard tools and settings.

Clipboard

View recent and pinned clipboard items in a spacious scrollable panel. Clipboard content is handled with privacy in mind, and secure fields do not expose clipboard previews.

Themes

Choose from:

Styling

Personalize the keyboard with live preview controls for:

Power Geez prepares common suggestions quickly and performs heavier dictionary work in the background. Key presses and editor actions remain responsive while suggestions update, helping the keyboard feel smooth during fast typing.

The keyboard adapts its suggestions to the current text field. Password and other sensitive fields receive privacy-safe behavior with suggestions and previews restricted when appropriate.
