About this app

A journey that from the present leads to discover how the Palazzo dei Pio and Carpi have evolved hand in hand. Three themes have been chosen for the realization of the BIM model (building Information modeling): the general context, from the city to the building; decorations as a trace for architecture; accessibility and levels: ancient and modern accesses. The door as a gateway to urban development. The multimedia contents are translated into immersive video installations located in the former Post Office room of the Palazzo dei Pio, where Incarpi - information and tourist reception is located. Here visitors meet, receive the first information on the history of the building, the current routes and the ways of visiting: in fact, here the tourist can physically and virtually access the network of monumental, museum and naturalistic sites of the city and the territory. It is a real "gateway to knowledge". From here the visitor heads towards the Warrior room, currently an underground, but one of the entrances to the Palace until the mid-fifteenth century, where there is a multimedia installation on a holographic screen, which reconstructs the architectural development of this area. Through multimedia content and virtual reality, visitors can be accompanied on their visit to Carpi and the Palazzo dei Pio. In the two squares of the Martyrs and King Astolfo, visitors through an APP and QR codes discover the monuments that surround them and above all the Palazzo dei Pio, in its historical evolution, from the Middle Ages to the Renaissance and up to the present day.
Guided by technology, they can enter through the ancient entrances of the Palace and discover how they have changed over the centuries.
The itinerary then develops inside, in the basement of the Warrior Room and in the noble apartment of the Palace, where the story moves on the decorations present in the main rooms, from the Chapel to the ancient bedroom of the Lady, up to the room of the Petrarchian triumphs.
