About this app

The OSG app brings the Otto-Schott-Gymnasium Mainz school portal to smartphones and tablets. Timetables, substitute teachers, school events, and announcements are always up-to-date.

Students can view their timetable, substitute teachers, test and assignment dates, absences, and a list of teachers. They can chat with classmates and teachers, find materials and submit assignments in the learning environment, read school announcements, plan their weekly tasks in the learning planner, and participate in video conferences.

Parents receive letters digitally and can confirm them directly in the app, view their child's timetable and substitute teachers, keep track of absences, see all school events, and chat with teachers.

Teachers maintain class and course registers, record absences, enter grades in the gradebook, chat with classes, courses, and colleagues, and send announcements and letters to parents.

Push notifications are sent for substitute teachers, timetable changes, new chat messages, letters to parents, and new materials in the learning environment. Each type of feature can be individually disabled in the settings.

Multiple accounts, for example for siblings, can be used in one app. Files and photos can be shared directly from other apps to the portal, and there is a light and a dark theme.

Login is done using the school portal credentials. The app is only available to students, parents, and teachers of the Otto-Schott-Gymnasium Mainz.
