FerryDodger watches the ferry lanes so you don't have to. Draw your route, and it shows you exactly where you'd cross a ferry line — then alerts you before you get there. And it helps you plan the weather too: tap the map and see when it's the right moment to go.

⛴️ AVOID THE CROSSINGS
Plan a route and FerryDodger finds every point where it intersects a ferry lane (OpenStreetMap data). See each crossing on the map and in a list, with distance from your start and an estimated time of crossing. Know what's ahead before you cast off.

🧭 LIVE MODE — ALERTS UNDERWAY
Follow your GPS position along the route in real time: speed, miles run and remaining, % of route done, and the next crossing with its ETA.
• Get a NOTIFICATION + VIBRATION as you approach a crossing, at a distance you choose (default 2 miles) — even with the screen off or the phone in your pocket.
• OFF-ROUTE AWARE: drift from your drawn line and FerryDodger recalculates distance, ETA and alerts from your real position.
• WEATHER STRIP in Live: wind, gusts, direction, expected point of sail, wave height, plus arrival ETA and remaining daylight (sunrise/sunset offline) for departure, midway and arrival.
FerryDodger is an ALERT tool, not a turn-by-turn navigator.

🌤️ FORECAST TABLES ON THE MAP
Tap any waypoint — or any point at sea — and get a 2-hourly forecast table for that exact spot: wind, gusts, direction, wave height and period, swell and rain. Every row is color-coded Quiet / Rock / War against YOUR thresholds, so one glance tells you when it's your weather.

🌤️ WEATHER & DEPARTURE WINDOWS
Compare 4 forecast models (GFS, ECMWF, ICON, GEM) along your route — wind, gusts, waves, swell and rain — to find the favorable windows and the best times to leave. Includes expected points of sail and sunrise, sunset and moon phase, all computed offline.

📡 WORKS OFFLINE
Before you leave, download the corridor map plus ferry data. Your position and alerts keep working far offshore with no signal. And with Premium, every forecast you've viewed stays available offline.

🗂️ ORGANIZED BY TABS
The route detail screen is split into clear sections — Overview, Ferries, Departures, Weather — with simple tab navigation.

🔒 PRIVACY
No account. NO ADS. Your data stays on your device, and your GPS position is never sent to any server.

Live Mode is free for a few minutes per session, restartable after a short wait. FerryDodger Premium (annual subscription, in-app purchase) makes Live Mode unlimited with no waiting — and keeps every forecast you've viewed available offline. Everything else — planning, crossing map, weather and offline maps — is free.

What’s new

All 8 world regions now include ferry lines, so crossings are computed offline wherever you sail. New optional offline base map (land, roads, borders) per region. The map is now the home screen, with persistent markers and “Navigate to” a marker. Depth and hazard packs are free and valid for 12 months from download, then you simply download them again. Privacy, Terms and data sources are now linked from Settings. More reliable large downloads.
