Edit: After contacting the support team,they were able to make changes to the app ,and since that time, it has been working as expected. The staff was extremely quick to respond, helpful, courteous, and overall, just a pleasure. "The majority of the time, trying to get a check deposited with this app takes several attempts of taking photos only for the app to continually return an error regarding the proper endorsement instructions. I usually spend a good hour trying to deposit a check."

this update with the new way to enter the app is absolutely horrible. I do not have a screen nor do I wish put one on my phone. I have to basically log in everytime I need the app instead of a 4 digit pin like before, which was very convenient. please return it to before the update.
