Great app, issues with sync I bought this app after finding that I used the free version a lot. I wanted to support this great app and I keep getting impressed! My only issue is the app's inability to sync properly. I use calibre to manage my library, when I update book info or cover, the changes are not reflected on my shelf. I have to empty the shelf and re-import to see changes. Unless I'm missing a setting somewhere, that seems to be a problem with sync.
Moon Reader has been a great little app. Brought Pro to support the developer. Only one issue so far : I wanted to transfer all the settings and stats across to pro. Made a backup in the standard app as instructed and was unable to 'restore' this into the pro version. The apps save with different extensions ( *.mrstd vs *.mrpro ). Is there another way to transfer stats , etc across ? Thanks. Update : Reply motivated me to try again. Used Google Drive this time instead of local SD card and everything worked. Great app. Thanks again.
Good general reader Beats Aldiko and Cool Reader. Occasional formatting problems, but could be the files. Wish it made use of fonts that I purchased & installed on my tablet. *** As of 4.0.2 update of this app and my tablet to Android 6, app no longer recognizes the external SD card. Multiple entries lead to same location, "SD Card," which lists contents of internal storage. Only way to read my files is open "My Files" app, navigate to the actual SD card, tap the book title, and select Moon Reader when Android asks what app to use.
Difficult & unattractive I was drawn to the moon reader app because of the wide variety of files thatvit can read and the customization options. Unfortunately it just doesn't live up to my expectations. It's very difficult to navigate inside the app, importing books is a nightmare, and most of the reading pre-sets are hideous. I'm moving onto a simpler , prettier ereader app.
Love text to speech and eye saver. I use this for reading in bed so I set the background to black and the text to orange and I get no blue light to keep me up. I wish the "Rest your eyes now" (my name for it) warning, which I appreciate, was also in a light orange instead of the white light which of course contains blue light. I also love that when I'm doing something like laundry or driving this app will read my book to me. Computer voices aren't perfect but they have come a long way and this is a lot less expensive than audio books.
Fully customizable reader, The Best. This is an awesome piece of kit, really totally customizable and smooth operating reader. I bought the pro version to avoid the ads, and the high-ish price looked worth it, for the customizable reading experience. It is the best reader but can show irratic behaviour sometimes like changing the background hue to default by itself. Can take some time to fully master all settings.
