App downloaded, but it will not install? On some streaming TV devices the switch that lets an app install other apps is hidden, and there is no way to reach it from the remote. Nothing you change in the normal settings menu fixes it.

That is not your fault and your TV is not broken. The permission still exists on the device. It is just not shown to you.

Install Unlock turns it on for you, from your phone.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Type your TV's IP address into the app.
2. Tap Unlock App Installs.
3. The first time only, your TV asks you to approve the connection. Tick Always allow and select OK.
4. Install Unlock switches the permission on, reads the setting back from your TV to make sure it took, and tells you plainly whether it worked.

Your phone talks to your own TV over your own home Wi-Fi. There is no computer, no laptop, no terminal window and no commands to copy out of a forum post.

WHAT YOU NEED

- An Amazon Fire TV device on the same Wi-Fi network as your phone.
- The app you want to install other apps with, already installed on the TV.
- ADB debugging switched on in the TV's developer options.

The app walks you through each of those in a set-up guide, and checks your TV is ready before it ever asks you for money.
