I tried K9 years ago and found it a bit ugly, but with the death of Nine, I decided to give it another shot. The customization options and setup have improved significantly, and I was excited to learn about the impending transition to Thunderbird (have used it on desktop for years). If I could add any feature, it would be transparency options on widgets. Thank you K9 and Mozilla for finally bringing Thunderbird to Android!

It's a pleasant UI and it doesn't automatically start downloading every email you've ever had when you first sign in with email account (Thunderbird Desktop Client does that and I'm still trying find a solution to get it to delete the emails on my local machine, but still have original copies of the emails on the server.) I want Thunderbird to set the account like this app does, by default.

Customizable, schedulable, sane, private. Handles multiple accounts, makes it easy to switch between accounts, has a unified Inbox to display all messages together, doesn't advertise to me, and displays all messages perfectly. It's just an email client, and a very good one. I didn't start using it until the Thunderbird folks took it over, and I wish I had tried it sooner.
