About this app
Speccy OS turns your Android device into a real retro console. No ads, no subscriptions, no paid features.
It is a frontend: it organises, illustrates and launches the games you ALREADY own. It does not include ROMs, BIOS files or games.
⚡ PER-DEVICE PERFORMANCE TUNING — NEW
Speccy OS recognises 83 handheld and phone models (Retroid Pocket, AYN Odin, Anbernic RG, AYANEO, GameMT, Powkiddy, ONEXSUGAR and more) and applies the right profile BEFORE each game opens: CPU governor, GPU frequency, fan and I/O scheduler. Not one global setting: PS2 and Dreamcast need power, the Game Boy does not.
With root or Shizuku the control is complete. Without them the app stays within what Android allows, and says so plainly instead of pretending.
🌡️ THERMAL CONTROL WITH HYSTERESIS — NEW
When the device heats up, the profile steps down. And it does not step back up until the device has cooled by eight degrees. That kills the frequency see-saw that ruins 60 fps in long sessions.
🌐 SCREEN TRANSLATION — NEW
Stuck on a menu in Japanese or English? Open the side panel, tap Translate, and Speccy OS reads the text on screen and shows it in your language without leaving the game. Works with any emulator.
🧩 BIOS CHECKER — NEW
24 systems verified by MD5: PlayStation, PS2, Saturn, Dreamcast, Naomi, 3DO, Neo Geo, PC-FX, X68000, Amiga, MSX2, PSP and more. It tells you which file is missing and its exact name, before the game fails.
🕹️ ANALOGUE STICK NAVIGATION — NEW
D-pad, triggers and now sticks too. With a dead zone, a separate release zone and clock-driven repeat, so the cursor never sticks when you hold the stick.
📚 YOUR COLLECTION, IN ORDER
27 preconfigured systems plus automatic detection of whatever you already have in RetroArch. It finds 34 installed standalone emulators and launches each game with the right one. Multi-disc (.m3u), CHD, CUE and GDI supported.
🔎 SCRAPER
Indexes your collection and downloads box art, videos and descriptions. Before spending data it looks for images already sitting in your folders and links them instantly.
