This screen dimming app has remained my favorite for years and years now. I'm extremely sensitive to light, so I use it on top of any built-in dimmers/nighttime modes on my phone. It has worked great on any Motorola or Samsung Galaxy phones I've had. The ads are so incredibly minimal that I had forgotten they were even there. I just decided to pay the $1 to get rid of ads, purely because the amount of use I've gotten out of the app over all these years is worth far more than that.

Very simple and intuitive to use. You can adjust the dimness level as you please. Maximum dimness is nearly black, even when viewed in a completely dark room. You can adjust the dimness directly from the quick access panel, rather than having to open the app. You can also shake your phone to turn the dimmer off, which is very useful if you accidentally make it too dark to see. I'm very glad to have found this app, as most screens are too bright for me at night.

This app only sometimes works. When it does, it's fantastic! I love that it can automatically turn on when I set my brightness to its lowest. But Screen Dimmer will sporadically stop working and need to be uninstalled and reinstalled. Even if I turn on accessibility setting permissions, the app keeps prompting for permissions and won't work. 💔
