If you don't trust your notes to the cloud, BurnerPad was built for you.

Your notes are encrypted with AES-256 and never leave your device. No accounts. No servers. No network permissions. No ads. No analytics. No subscriptions. Nothing phoning home — ever.

WHO THIS IS FOR
BurnerPad is for people who take privacy seriously: journalists, activists, lawyers, or anyone who simply doesn't want a corporation reading their private thoughts. If you want cloud sync or collaboration, this isn't the right app.

WHAT IT DOES
• Stores notes as encrypted files on your device
• Protects everything behind a PIN (AES-256-CBC, PBKDF2WithHmacSHA256)
• Organizes notes in folders
• Backs up to an encrypted archive in your Downloads folder — and restores from it
• Duress PIN: a second PIN that silently wipes everything and opens a blank app
• Works completely offline — no network connection, ever

PLAIN TEXT, NO SURPRISES
Notes are stored as plain text with no automatic formatting. No autocorrected punctuation, no surprise bold text, no hidden markup. Just your words, exactly as you typed them.

FOCUS ON YOUR WRITING
Turn off the word and character count bar in settings for a cleaner editor with more space for your text. Dark, light, and system themes included.

FULLY OPEN SOURCE
Every line of code is publicly auditable at github.com/Zaegan/BurnerPad. You don't have to take our word for it.
