Globe Lap is a free, one-day global relay. On September 27, 2026, as 9:00 in the morning reaches each timezone, a new wave of runners starts. The relay moves west with the sun, timezone by timezone, and every runner adds distance to one shared global total: together, we carry a lap around the planet.
RUN FROM ANYWHERE
Start from your doorstep, a park, or a local event site. The app tracks your distance live and adds it to the shared total. No minimum distance: whether you walk for 20 minutes or run for hours, we are one team.
CHASE THE PACE MARKS, OR DON'T
Want to push yourself? Stay ahead of the hourly pace marks and see how far you can carry your wave. Prefer it easy? Walk or jog at your own pace: if a cutoff closes your lap, everything you covered still counts. Weekly practice waves let you try the format before the big day.
WATCH THE WAVE GO ROUND
Anyone can spectate: follow the front as it sweeps west, watch activity light up city by city, and watch the shared world total climb in real time.
ANONYMOUS BY DEFAULT
No account, no email, no name required. You are an anonymous device identity unless you choose to add a display name. Your location is used to measure your run, draw your route, and keep the race fair. It is never used for advertising and never sold. Wipe your data from inside the app at any time. No one else but yourself can see your precise location.
MADE FOR RACE DAY
A live countdown to your wave, voice cues in multiple languages, a readiness check for GPS and battery, indoor treadmill mode (experimental), and a shareable finish card with your route.
Free, non-commercial, and built for one day of running together. Participation (run tracking) requires confirming you are 16 or older, but anyone can watch. The app is available in multiple different languages.
