Any chance to reduce the volume of the alert? It has just gone off for the first time and scared the living daylights out of me. At this rate, I may be one requiring assistance. Seriously, it's really piercing and would be so much better to be able to reduce the volume. Thanks for the very speedy response. Simulating an alert and reducing the volume when going off has worked (and a little embarrassed I hadn't thought of that...) Cheers

Hi Adrian, sorry about that! If you open the app, you can use the "Simulation" button and the volume buttons to adjust the volume. Basically simulate an incident and press the volume down button to reduce the volume. Hope that helps!

It would be good to be able to lower the siren alarm, as I imagine it's quite annoying for my neighbours and is loud enough to make me jump. I get lots of alerts, but many too far away to accept (some on the other side of the country!) I've yet to receive a genuine request for help, only endless false alarms. I'm not sure how these are being triggered, but it causes a lot of confusion when I am able to get through to the number provided.

Hi Emma, the volume of the alarm can be controlled from the app, you can try a simulation and press the volume down button. The requests that are miles away are for a check and chat, as this is a phone call, the distance does not matter. All referrals come from the NHS, please report them to the helpline if the person no longer needs help, cheers!

Dreadful. The whining alarm sound it makes to alert you of a notification is hideous, you don't want your phone making those noises esp in public. When a volunteer op pops up no information is given, I want to know more before I sign up to something. The map is very slow to load, and sometimes doesn't. I wanted to help but this app is unusable, I just wonder how many like me now won't volunteer if this is the only way to do so. Awful awful app.

Hi there, you can pick and choose your own notification sound, this is under the "Me" tab. In order to see the patient details, you must accept the task first based on its "Task type" and distance, this is to allow us preserve the governance and privacy. Please make sure you have reception on your phone as we rely on the internet to load.
