About this app

DentalMonitoring is designed to help dental professionals monitor the evolution of their patients’ orthodontic treatments remotely, between in-practice appointments. It can only be used under the supervision of a clinician, who provides patients with their personal login information.

The DentalMonitoring app is intended to be used with the patented DM ScanBox and DM Cheek Retractor, to maximize the quality of each intraoral picture taken with patients’ smartphones.

If you’re a patient, the app provides:

• Convenience: With regular screening of the orthodontic treatment evolution, from the comfort of home.
• Control: Regular monitoring can help prevent potential treatment complications.
• Communication: Patients receive specific notifications and advice from their practitioner via the app, and can send messages, too.
• Motivation: Patients see their treatment progress with a before/after comparison, and stay motivated throughout their treatment with achievement statistics.

If you’re a dental professional, the app provides:
• Control: Remotely monitor the evolution of patients’ treatments, track potential issues and set clinical goals for complete monitoring of treatment progression.

This app paired with the applicator it comes with is frustrating. As far as I can tell they only make one model and if your flashlight isn't on the same side of the phone as your camera then it's not going to work well. We have taken and retaken scans for three weeks straight and when we finally thought everything met the criteria our scan was once again rejected. And it doesn't seem to save the pictures you take in the app. If one set of pictures is rejected you have to retake the entire scan.

Not a fan so far. The device used to get photos with this app wasn't created to work universally with all phones so the light on my Pixel sits on the outside instead illuminating my teeth as it's supposed to. Therefore, I keep getting the scans rejected. Not happy, they should warn you ahead of time that you need an iPhone to make this work well.

Hello Melanie, we're sorry to hear that you're having problems taking your scans. An alternative does exist for Google Pixels. Don't hesitate to get in touch with our Support team at support@dental-monitoring.com for more information. Have a nice day!

I really don't like that for one I can't send a message to my provider after they review my scans. But I also don't like the order in which we take photos. We have to take them out and then stick them back in. Every time, my "provider" states that they could fit better. Well I am not going to have an amazing fit after removing them and sticking them back in for the next set of photos. It should be with aligners in, and then without.

Hello! You can use the Message icon from the app menu to contact your Dr. We understand that the scan order can be frustrating but it has been set up this way to make sure patients clean their aligners and brush their teeth before starting the scan. Try biting down before resuming your scan. For more help contact us at support@dental-monitoring.com
