About this app

DentalMonitoring is designed to help dental professionals monitor the evolution of their patients’ orthodontic treatments remotely, between in-practice appointments. It can only be used under the supervision of a clinician, who provides patients with their personal login information.

The DentalMonitoring app is intended to be used with the patented DM ScanBox and DM Cheek Retractor, to maximize the quality of each intraoral picture taken with patients’ smartphones.

If you’re a patient, the app provides:
• Ease of use: No technical expertise is needed to use DentalMonitoring. An in-app tutorial is available explaining how to take good intra-oral pictures.
• Convenience: With regular screening of the orthodontic treatment evolution, from the comfort of home.
• Control: Regular monitoring can help prevent potential treatment complications.
• Communication: Patients receive specific notifications and advice from their practitioner via the app, and can send messages, too.
• Motivation: Patients see their treatment progress with a before/after comparison, and stay motivated throughout their treatment with achievement statistics.

If you’re a dental professional, the app provides:
• Control: Remotely monitor the evolution of patients’ treatments, track potential issues and set clinical goals for complete monitoring of treatment progression.

App is so slow to do anything now that you have to listen to the steps each time and added a bunch more steps. Easily doubled the time to scan and removes guide lines so you can forget what you are doing by the time it talks for the 3rd time. Big misstep on this update. Edit after suggesting the double tap to skip. Yes I saw that tip, problem is you can't skip it and have to wait to proceed with the scan. Maybe skip with the volume button like the old version. Remove my mouth from home.

I have to use this on a very old phone (the scanbox doesn't fit my current one, and I've traded in my previous two phones). It was laggy and crashed occasionally, but I recognize that using very outdated hardware is my problem, not the apps. However, the app recently updated and is now so much smoother and completely stable. I am very impressed!

Using this makes proceeding through Invisiline much easier than the first time through Invisiline. My new orthodontist recommended using this app and now they can check alignment progress without the commute and appointments for in-office visits. This would make it 5 stars. The only drawback is the bracket that holds my phone for the camera work tends to press the Samsung 22 right on the sound and power button. This makes the app jumps out to the home screen and the scan has to repeat.
