Better than duo lingo. Best app for Chinese! It has exercises similar to Duolingo, but the value is found in the short stories that you can read and translate in app, as well as the native speaker immersion feature where you can listen to native speakers. I'm currently learning Mandarin via multiple channels, and as far as having something on my phone this app beats the rest.

This is a fantastic way to learn Chinese! It was recommended by an American friend who tried several different Chinese learning apps and he said this is the best.one, by far. Much better than Duolingo because it's specifically aimed at teaching Chinese to English speakers. It's a great mix of speaking reading listening and writing. Highly recommended!

I love this app! I have installed and uninstalled a bunch, and this is one of three Chinese language apps that have made it to my home screen. I do use the owl as well. I love that they are set up completely differently. Hello Chinese is much more useful for immediate use. It starts with important things like food and money. I like the format and I love the different voices and that it teaches you to write the characters. I'll keep using both.
