Grateful to the developrs! I am someone who has never learnt Mandarin formally but now needs to translate English to Mandarin, & occasionally pinyin to English. This app gives precise definitions & a lot of times examples of usage. It can also be used off-line & that's really very helpful as I only use wifi, no data plan on my handphone.
So useful! I would give it 5 stars if... 1. There were an option to have the Taiwan pronunciation as the default. It sucks studying a word only to find out you're studying the mainland tones. 2. There were an option to not include example sentences when exporting flash cards. Manually eliminating these from a list of 500 words is manageable but painful.
Great app and support Chinese learners or just in need of a serious dictionary, search no more. Besides, the support replied me and solved my problem in less than 24 hours. Just awesome
A life saver! No network needed, fast and easy search feature, write in any character you don't know. Really the perfect app for anyone learning Chinese, or traveling to China.
Terrific Chinese Dictionary A superb Chinese Dictionary, even the free one is already very good. Accept input in Pinyin, Hanzi (Chinese characters) and English. User can use the handwriting feature to input the Hanzi. Pronunciation is available. A very very useful app for anyone with interest in learning Chinese language!! If I ever pay for an android app, PLECO will be the very first of my choice. Highly recommended.
Must have for travel! I speak essentially no Chinese. So when visiting China, Pleco helped me get around by translating everything from restaurant menus to street/train names. The offline support was a lifesaver because I didn't have internet most of the time. Also, when communicating with locals, I could always let them use the handwriting function to write what they wanted to say in Chinese characters. I definitely recommend downloading this app if you're going to China.

3.2.29: Bug fixes + overhauled the long search results breakdown toolbar (adding audio + flashcard buttons).
3.2.26: Bug fixes, including a nasty startup crash on Android N; also, Pleco now uses the new Taiwanese Google TTS voice if you've enabled traditional characters, so you can throw out your lèsè at the end of the xīngqí.
