About this app

Someone you love is not safe, and you are the one who noticed.

Or you are the one who is not safe, and you are still here, reading this.

Alongside is a suicide prevention app for both of those people: a safety plan in your own words, a crisis helpline for your country, and a private mental health journal nobody else reads.

A CRISIS LINE, ONE TAP AWAY

Alongside knows the crisis helpline where you are and keeps it at the top of the screen. If your country is not one we hold a number for, it takes you to a directory that does. Emergency services are never more than a tap away either.

IF YOU ARE SUPPORTING SOMEONE

A caregiver's app, for when you are worried about a partner, a child, a friend or a parent.

Supporter guide — suicide warning signs, what to say when you do not know what to say, suicide first aid, and looking after your own mental health while you do it.
Check-ins — the people you are keeping an eye on, in one place. Set a reminder to call, then note how it went, so you can see when someone has gone quiet.
Power stories — people who came through this, and the people who stood beside them.

IF THINGS ARE HARD FOR YOU

For anyone living with depression, anxiety, self-harm or thoughts of suicide.

Your safety plan — your warning signs, what has helped before, things that take your mind off it, people you can reach, the doctors and crisis lines you already know, your reasons for wanting to be here, and what to put out of reach for now. A suicide safety plan written now, for a moment when thinking clearly is harder.
Your guide — getting through the next hour, how to tell someone, sleep.
A private journal nobody else reads.

Answer one question the first time you open the app and Alongside becomes the version you need. Change it later in Settings.

THE DAILY PASS: A TWO-MINUTE MOOD TRACKER

Five short steps — sleep, movement, diet, stressors, journal. The ordinary things mental health actually runs on. Nothing is required and nothing is scored. After a few weeks the pattern shows up on its own: the weeks with no sleep, the days the stressors stack up, the stretch where things quietly got better.

Doubles as a sleep tracker, a food and mood diary, and a stress log you can show a doctor.

SOMEWHERE FOR THE GOOD THINGS

Photos, videos, poetry, artwork, and plans you have made together. Worth having on the days that are hard.

PRIVATE, AND WE MEAN IT SPECIFICALLY

• No ads. No analytics. No trackers. No advertising ID. No third-party SDK reading anything you write.
• Your journal, safety plan, check-ins and daily records are never sent to any AI service. The one feature that uses AI is the poetry writer, and it sends only the words you type into that box.
• Stored under your own account with row-level access rules, so no other user can read yours.
• Works offline. What you write saves on the phone, and syncs when there is signal again.
• Start without an account if you would rather not hand over an email.
• Delete your account and everything in it from Settings, in five taps.

WHAT IS INSIDE

Alongside is not a crisis service, not a therapist, and not a substitute for medical care. It is a notebook, a plan, and a phone number, kept somewhere you can find them at 3am. If someone is in immediate danger right now, call your local emergency number or go to the nearest emergency department.
Safety plan, crisis lines and a private journal — for them, or for you.
