Good audiobook selection, I use hoopla quite a bit. My main issue is that when I rewind 30 seconds, sometimes the play stops. I think the buffer needs to store a couple minutes of recently played material to avoid this. Also, often when I connect my phone to external speakers with Bluetooth or sometimes with an aux cord, the audio cuts out. But headphones always work fine. Overall quite useful though, and it is great to be able to use a library card for audiobooks.
On the rare occasions that it works, it's a good app. I enjoy free access to current audio books. The problem is that most of the time, I get part-way through a book and then it won't play any more. Even if I uninstall and reinstall the program and reload the book, it won't play anymore. And don't try the go back 15 seconds button, because then the app freezes that much faster.
When i first heard about this app i was thrilled! But now, i have a hard time getting them to play. And im in a really good series that i cant stop listening to. But it still wont play. I get messages like, ur library's limit has been reached, or it just stops mid way thru the book or just wont start from where i left off. I do love this app. But i just dont know what to do. Once its fixed.... I can garrentee a full 5 star rating!
Wonderful app! Access to books in numerous libraries across the state. Allowed to borrow 10 audiobooks a month for free and they are automatically returned for you at the end of the month. Never a late fee! You can choose from ebooks, audiobooks, movies, music DVD's, television shows etc. All you have to have is a library card and download Hoopla app. Best find I have found to listen to 10 audiobooks for free each month.
The button on Samsung headphones does not pause the books. On naugaut if the app is in the background it will start playing when you end a call, even if it did not stop when answering the call. Often when starting to play the book does not start. Restarting the app does not help. I think skipping way back does, then skip back to wanted time. I love that hoopla let's me search for audio books available though my library. Which is way better than trying to find downloadable audio books on prospective. But the basic functions of audio book playback on my device need a lot of work.
Only problem is audio book controls. Just wish I didn't have to navigate many screens to pause, stop audio if I'm driving or when coming out of pick on phone. Doesn't show like audible does on lock screen or even in notifications. Other than that, great app!
We fixed some bugs in the eReader.
We added the ability to rate titles within the app. Now you can give Birdemic 2 that 5 star review!
On a serious note, we added a dyslexic font to our ebooks.
