RepUnlock locks the apps you choose, such as social media or video apps. To open one, do a short workout in front of your phone's camera. Finish your goal and you earn minutes. Spend them on the locked apps. When the minutes run out, the apps lock again.
How it works
1. Pick the apps you want to lock.
2. Choose today's workout: squat, push-up or plank.
3. Put your phone where the camera sees your whole body and start. The app counts your reps (or your hold time) on your phone.
4. Reach the goal, earn minutes, open your apps.
Features
- App lock that asks for a workout first. Open a locked app and you see how many reps it takes.
- Rep counting with your camera. Pose detection runs on your phone and gives live tips such as "Go a little deeper".
- Minutes balance and streak. See how many minutes you have left and how many days in a row you moved.
- Buddy lock. Pair with a friend using a short code. You see each other's reps for today, and when you both reach your goals you get bonus minutes. Only people who enter your code can see your reps. You can unpair at any time.
- Skeleton video. After a workout, make a short video of your movement drawn as a glowing skeleton, with the result on the end card. Share it with friends. Your camera footage is not in the video.
- Lockie, your muscle-lock mascot, cheers you on.
- Available in English, Korean and Japanese.
Free and Pro
The free plan includes 1 locked app, 1 exercise and 1 buddy. RepUnlock Pro unlocks unlimited locked apps, all exercises, up to 3 buddies and the option to remove the video watermark. Pro is offered as a subscription or a one-time purchase. Subscriptions can be cancelled any time in Google Play subscriptions.
Privacy
- Your camera is used only while you work out, to count reps. Camera video is analyzed on your phone. It is not saved and not sent anywhere.
- The app does not read your contacts or what is on your screen.
- Buddy lock shares only your buddy code, a display name and today's rep count with the friend you paired with.
Permissions
- Camera: to count your reps.
- Usage access: to know which app is in front, so locked apps can be detected.
- Accessibility service (optional, needed for the lock to work): see the disclosure below.
- Notifications: to tell you about your buddy.
Accessibility service disclosure
RepUnlock uses the Android AccessibilityService API for one purpose: to detect when an app you chose to lock comes to the front, so RepUnlock can show its lock screen and ask for a workout first. The service only notices which app has come to the foreground. It does not read, collect, store or share anything shown on your screen, such as text, passwords or messages. Nothing from this service leaves your device. You can turn it off any time in Settings > Accessibility, and the app still works without the lock.
Tips for safe workouts: exercise in a clear space and stop if you feel pain or dizziness. RepUnlock is a habit helper and not medical advice.
