About this app

Turn every time you turn on your screen into a Korean lesson. Lockademy shows you one Korean word every time you unlock your phone—read it, memorize it, and swipe through it. No app to open, no time to allocate: the moments you already spend unlocking your phone become dozens of mini-lessons every day.

The sole purpose of this app is to learn Korean on your lock screen. Everything else—the word browser, statistics, quiz, and settings—is there to fine-tune and track your lock screen learning experience.

How it works:
• Turn on your screen—a Korean word card appears.
• Tap to reveal the meaning, example sentence, synonyms, and antonyms.
• Choose "Know this" or "Show it later"—and smart repetition takes care of the rest.
• Want more? Tap "Ask" to Google the word—to delve deeper into the meaning, nuances, cultural context, and related expressions.
• Unlock as usual. The card never blocks your PIN, pattern, or fingerprint.

Can't read Hangul? Start from scratch.
Still not reading Korean? The integrated 한글 course teaches you the alphabet itself: every vowel and consonant with a memorization tool, step-by-step syllable construction (ㅎ + ㅏ + ㄴ = 한), batchim characters, and the actual pronunciation rules—합니다 is pronounced "hamnida"—and flashcards show you why. Select "Can't read Hangul yet" when you first open the app, and it starts right there.

Smart, unforgettable revision. The spaced repetition method replays each word just before you forget it completely: 1 hour → 1 day → 3 days → 7 days → 30 days. Words you master fade away, and words you struggle with come back faster. Your achievement tracker and progress statistics keep you motivated.

Test Mode
Flip the card into test mode and choose the correct meaning from four options. Instant feedback, hints, and an accuracy rate you aim to exceed. In the 한글 course, the test includes letter practice: assemble syllables from their parts and match each letter to its sound.

20,000 TOPIK Words
Vocabulary selected from the National Korean Language Institute's Learner Word List and TOPIK General Guidelines, covering all levels from beginner to advanced (TOPIK 1–6). Each word is accompanied by its Latin transliteration, morphological type, natural example sentence, synonyms, and antonyms. Browse the complete word list, search, and bookmark words for later.
