Regulatory Information:
The Optum Homecare app aggregates and displays health readings collected by a compatible third-party medical device and, where the patient grants permission, from Android Health Connect.
Health data handled by this app:
• Blood pressure (systolic and diastolic)
• Heart rate (the pulse recorded with each blood pressure measurement)
The app does not measure these values, diagnose conditions, or provide medical advice. It aggregates data from a compatible third-party device and authorized data sources.
Health Connect and Heart Rate:
This app requests only the Health Connect permissions it uses: blood pressure and heart rate. It does not request steps, activity, sleep, weight, blood glucose, oxygen saturation, body temperature, or any other data type.
Heart rate is requested because the Optum Homecare blood pressure monitor (A&D Medical UA-651BLE) reports a pulse rate with every measurement. The Bluetooth Blood Pressure Measurement characteristic includes a pulse rate field, so a pulse value arrives together with the systolic and diastolic values each time a patient takes a reading.
The app uses heart rate in two ways:
• Read — to display the pulse recorded with each blood pressure reading, and, where the patient grants Health Connect access, to include heart rate records from Health Connect in the same chronological history, so the patient and their care team see one consolidated record.
• Write — to record the pulse reported with each blood pressure measurement into Health Connect alongside its blood pressure reading, so the patient's own health record stays complete.
The accuracy and regulatory clearance of these readings are the responsibility of the device manufacturer. Users are encouraged to review its compliance documentation, including its FDA 510(k) clearance, linked below.
This app does not alter, validate, or interpret health readings received from the connected device or Android Health Connect. Data is displayed as provided, for informational and care coordination purposes only, and under no circumstances should replace professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment. USERS MUST CONSULT WITH A PROFESSIONAL BEFORE MAKING ANY MEDICAL DETERMINATIONS.
Users must follow the manufacturer's directions to ensure readings are taken correctly. Impilo may change the supported device models in future releases.
Disclaimers:
This app has not been independently evaluated or cleared as a medical device.
For questions about the connected device's regulatory status or performance, contact the manufacturer directly.
Health Data:
Readings are encrypted on your device and shared only with your Optum Homecare care team. They are never used for advertising or marketing.
