Professor Robot is not a game: it is a robotics and mechatronics workshop for kids, where everything is real 3D.
Kids build a robot from parts they recognize: the old TV becomes the head, the cookie tin becomes the body, the spoon becomes a hand, the motor becomes the heart. Every part is a real 3D model, and every choice teaches something.
TEACHES REAL ROBOTICS
Sensor, controller and actuator: the same tripod from the first mechatronics lesson. No microphone, the robot can't hear; no speaker, it can't talk; no motor, it can't move. Kids discover this by building, not memorizing.
MATERIALS SCIENCE WITH REAL NUMBERS
Each part can be aluminum, steel, copper, plastic, cardboard or rubber, with real density, conductivity and stiffness. A cardboard robot thinks slowly because cardboard doesn't conduct. A rubber arm shakes. A steel head is heavy and wobbles.
THE ROBOT TALKS (free, needs internet)
Hold the button and speak: the robot listens, thinks and answers out loud. Its personality comes from the brain, heart and lung settings the child chooses. Everything goes through automatic moderation to stay kid-friendly. To talk, just fit a microphone, a board and a speaker: all three come in the Basic Workshop.
A 3D TOWN TO EXPLORE (extra pack "The Town")
Drive the robot with a joystick through a little country town: square, church, bandstand, library, market, bakery and windmill. Each place has an activity: music, stories, fables, batteries and oil.
A SCHOOL WITH THREE CLASSROOMS (inside the town)
Math with a blackboard that analyzes mistakes and gives the right hint; languages (Spanish for English speakers, with reading and listening); geography by age. Problems adapt to the child's level.
ENERGY, COINS AND MISSIONS (in the town)
Every part that is switched on drains the battery. Find the eight hidden screws, deliver the bread and earn coins for the market.
REAL ARDUINO (first lesson free; the others are an extra pack)
Kids wire an LED, a button, a buzzer and a servo to a board, snap blocks together and watch real ARDUINO CODE appear beside them — the C++ line lights up along with the block while the program runs. Ten self-checking lessons: from the blinking LED to the arm that obeys, through traffic lights, half light (PWM), sirens, loops, buttons and light sensors. The first lesson is free. Then come three more courses: Sensors, Motion, and Music and Light.
It works with no board at all, in the phone simulator. And with an ESP32 (the board you program in the Arduino language) the same program goes into the real wire: the LED lights up on the table, the servo turns, and the program stays SAVED on the board running by itself, with no phone. You can even export the .ino file and open it in the Arduino IDE.
