About this app

F+R 90 is the pager companion app for retained firefighters of Fire and Rescue NSW Station 90 Menai. It is independent and not an official Fire and Rescue NSW app. It does not alert you to new callouts when it is closed: your pager remains the source of truth.

For Station 90 members only: the app checks your Gartan login before you can use it.

NOW — the current incident at a glance: job type, incident number, location and a live job-age timer. Tell the crew you're responding with one tap: on the way, delayed, very delayed, at station, on the tanker or retained relief, and see everyone else's status live. Once you allow location access, responding shares your live location on the crew's responder map until the job ends, you clear your response or tap Stop. When the job is done, tap "Current job" to close it: the app writes the dismissed time into the incident's Gartan timesheet, signed off in your name, and clears the job from everyone's app. Add the callout address by scanning the station printout or the truck's MDT screen with the camera (read on the phone) or typing it, then navigate in Google Maps. The radio quick reference is one tap away.

AVAILABILITY — one plain crewing answer from Gartan, such as "Crewed until 22:00" or "Below 2 qualified now". A 12-hour chart shows qualified firefighters available each hour against the 2 needed, any shortfall and what changed. See who's available now and which platoon is on shift; recruits are shown but never counted as crew. Turn on availability alerts in Settings to be notified when a qualified firefighter's availability changes in the next 12 hours, or the tanker is marked online or offline. Any member can mark the tanker online or offline in the app; this does not tell Fire and Rescue NSW, so still phone them.

TANKER DUTY AND MAINTENANCE — the monthly tanker duty rotation in Gartan order, with pass-on, temporary handover and opt-out. Anyone can report what the tanker needs; the member on duty works each report through to done, with notes.

TANKER DOCS — the Class 1 CAFS tanker operators manual, the Isuzu owner's manual and the stowage configuration, stored for offline use, with zoomable figures and one search across all three. The Emergency burnover card is one tap from the Now menu.

ERG HAZMAT MODE — an unofficial quick index to the Australian and New Zealand Emergency Response Guidebook 2024, with the official guidebook built in, all usable offline. Look up a material by UN number or shipping name and see its isolation and protective action zones on a street map (map needs signal). A banner shows if a new job arrives while it's open.

STATION CONTACTS — tap-to-call Fire Coms, the station, pump and tanker, the permanent platoons and retained crew, with the platoon on shift highlighted. Call or email support contacts such as Fleet, IT and Sydney Water, and save them to your phone contacts.

HISTORY — past MENAI incidents, with who responded to and attended each job and any address added.

REPORT — your six-month incident attendance average, with the full brigade breakdown for nominated members.

NOTIFICATIONS — even when the app is closed: tanker duty when it moves to or from you, new maintenance reports while you hold the duty, and availability and tanker status alerts if you turn them on. While the app is open, new pages and crew responses update live, and the screen stays awake for the first 30 minutes of a job.

ANDROID AUTO — see the current job, respond on the way, delayed or very delayed, and see who else is responding, with a rough drive time for those sharing their location.

VOICE — long-press the app icon to report tanker maintenance or add a job address, spoken or typed. Where Google Assistant is available, say "Hey Google, send a message to Fire and Rescue using F+R 90 saying on my way".

Your Gartan password is sent only to Gartan. It is kept on this phone, encrypted, to sign timesheet close-offs, is never backed up and is removed when you sign out.
