KaBlok is a block puzzle arcade. Every game sits one tap from the home screen, opens with a short visual guide the first time you play it, and asks for no reading after that. Pick one up for two minutes on the bus, or sink into it for an hour.

ELEVEN GAMES, ONE DOWNLOAD

• BLAST: the classic block puzzle. Drag pieces onto the grid, fill rows and columns to clear them, and line up four of a colour for a chain reaction bomb.
• NINE: block sudoku. Fill lines, columns and 3x3 boxes with the pieces you are dealt.
• SHAPES: fit the pieces into a glowing silhouette until it is full.
• SORT: the water sort puzzle. Pour the colour tubes until every tube holds a single colour. Undo is always there, so you can never get stuck.
• MERGE: drop blocks and watch matching colours merge up a tier.
• POP: tap clusters of the same colour to clear them.
• STACK: time your drop and build the tower as high as it will go.
• TRIO: match three tiles into the tray before it fills.
• GATE: slide each block to the gate that matches its colour.
• GEMS: swap tiles to line up three or more, then watch the cascade.
• SCREW: the screw puzzle. Sort the screws by colour, one tray at a time.

MADE TO RELAX

Block puzzle games are meant to switch your brain off, not wind it up. There is nothing to defend here and nobody to beat except your own best score. Come back for the daily when you feel like it.

Each of the eleven games teaches itself with a short animation the first time you open it. Nothing to study, no tutorial to sit through, no rules page.

What’s new

The home screen leads with the games now. On a new install it opened on STATS and TODAY'S QUESTS, both of them empty, with the games pushed further down. Those two arrive once you have finished your first game, and until then RANDOM takes the whole row, so one tap starts something.

KaBlok also waits until you have played before asking about notifications, plus a few fixes you will never see.
