About this app

Puffers is a shared inhaler tracker and puff counter for households managing asthma or COPD. It keeps one exact puff count for every inhaler, and reminds whoever is on duty when a dose is due. For two caregivers, if the dose gets missed the reminder escalates to the other caregiver so it never slips through the cracks. No more "did you already give it?", no more missed puffs because each of you thought the other had it handled.

WHY COUNTING PUFFS MATTERS
A metered-dose inhaler keeps spraying long after the medicine is gone — the propellant still fires, so the puff looks and sounds completely normal even when there's no actual dose left in it. The only reliable way to know how much real medication remains is to count every puff. Do that by hand across two or three caregivers and it falls apart fast: someone forgets to mark a dose, two people guess differently, and now nobody truly knows whether the inhaler is full, nearly empty, or already spraying nothing. Puffers fixes that — one shared, exact count that every caregiver is held to.

SMART REMINDERS THAT KNOW WHO DID WHAT
• The whole household stays in sync. When the scheduled dose comes due, the parent on duty gets a reminder — give it right from the lock screen (Gave it / Snooze / Skip).
• The moment either caregiver logs the puff, the reminder clears on everyone's phone. One of you handles it; the other is never pinged for a dose that's already done.
• If the dose still isn't logged an hour later, Puffers escalates: it flags the on-duty caregiver as having missed it and rings the partner, so a forgotten puff doesn't go unnoticed.

WHY PUFFERS
• The log is the source of truth. Every puff is a permanent entry, and the remaining count is worked out from the log — so a dose can never quietly go missing or get counted twice.
• One tap to log. "Gave the morning dose" is a single button; log at an earlier time if you forgot to record it in the moment.
• Built to be shared. Caregivers see the same doses, in sync, so two people never double up.
• Review puff doses and see historical graphs for each inhaler (Great to show your doctor for context on how you've been doing).

WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Track a scheduled preventer (a breathing dose ring shows puffs left and days remaining, with a per-day strip showing which doses are done and by whom) and an as-needed reliever (a running count plus "used N× this week" for your doctor).
• Add and configure your own medications — name, puffs per canister, how often, who gives each dose, re-prime threshold and refill point.
• Log priming sprays, undo a mistaken tap, or fix the time on a dose after the fact.
• Start a new canister when you reload — capture total puffs, purchase and expiry dates, and a photo of the box or label to keep for reference.
• Get clear warnings before you're caught out: expired, needs priming, running low, or expiring soon — each with a one-tap action.
• Set up a household and invite the other parent or a carer with a link; you approve who joins.

What’s new

If your household already has Puffers free, or you are already subscribed, the app no longer offers you a subscription you do not need. Subscribers can now manage or cancel from Settings. Puffers also now tells you when a newer version is available.
