With a Galaxy Watch 6, the initial configuration does not keep the app active (no notification running either), but the app does exactly what I want it to do. I can swipe up and tap the app at the bottom of my apps drawer and then open the door to the vehicle. I prefer this over always on anyway, because in most cases, I'll want my phone with me and if the app is always active, it increases the chance of leaving the phone behind. Now, I have a backup beyond just the key card.

After the update, the unlatch on approach is worse than it was. It works maybe 25% of the time, and even then it takes a good 20 seconds of just standing at the drivers door waiting for it to unlatch. I have the settings set to "far" etc. It's just not reliable at this point. It's just frustrating.

edit (2 July 26): thanks I'll try the app again and report back. This is barely useable on my pixel watch. I've managed to get it working but the Bluetooth shows too often as disconnected. When I ask the app to unlock the car it can take 20 secs or more. Just as you give up, and possibly walk away, the car unlocks!
