About this app
JustChat is a texting app for Android. Make it your default messages app and it sends and receives your SMS and MMS: texts, group texts, photos, videos and voice messages. Your messages are kept in the phone's own message store, on your phone.
No account. No ads. Nothing to sign in to.
KEEP CONVERSATIONS APART
- Work and Personal tabs out of the box, each with its own colour and unread count
- Up to 7 tabs of your own - rename, reorder and colour them
- Pin conversations, star messages, name your groups
SAY IT YOUR WAY
- Photos, videos and voice messages
- Sticker packs and chat backgrounds
- Translate messages both ways, on your phone - each language is a one-time download, then it works offline
STAY IN CONTROL
- Spam and blocking: block a number on your whole phone, or send texts from unknown numbers that contain phrases you choose straight to Spam
- Lock JustChat, or just one conversation, with your fingerprint, face or phone PIN
- Block screenshots
- Dual SIM: a default SIM, or a SIM per contact
- Delivery reports, and the full date on every message if you want it
YOUR BACKUPS, YOUR STORAGE
- Back up your messages to a file - this phone, a memory card, or a cloud app you choose
- Or to your own Nextcloud, with an optional weekly backup on Wi-Fi while charging
- Every backup is locked with a password only you know
- Connect your Nextcloud to send big photos and videos as a link from your own server
PRICE
14 days free. Then US$4.99 for two years. When the two years end, JustChat keeps working - you'll see a reminder you can dismiss. No subscription.
Good to know: JustChat sends SMS and MMS. RCS chat is not open to apps other than Google's and Samsung's, so if RCS is on in Google Messages, some texts may go there instead - JustChat shows you how to turn it off.

What’s new
Adds a JustChat PIN: lock JustChat and locked conversations with your fingerprint or a PIN of your own, separate from your phone's.
Locked groups now hide their notifications like locked people do. New: choose what a locked conversation's notifications show - nothing, the name, or the name and a short preview. The app-drawer conversation's notifications use its own icon and open it directly.
