About this app

HARGiS – Dr. Haribhakti’s Atlas of Robotic GI Surgery is a visionary, state-of-the-art online educational platform designed to empower General and Gastrointestinal surgeons to learn, refine, and master robotic gastrointestinal surgery. Conceived as a comprehensive digital atlas, HARGiS seamlessly integrates authoritative chapters with meticulously curated, high-definition operative videos, offering a structured, step-by-step pathway from foundational principles to advanced robotic GI procedures.
The Atlas is led by its Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Sanjiv Haribhakti, a highly respected and accomplished GI surgeon from Kaizen Hospital, with Dr. Tushar Dave serving as Co-Editor. HARGiS is an initiative of Dr. Haribhakti, published by the Haribhakti Education Foundation, and strongly supported by Kaizen Hospital and SS Innovations International, India’s leading indigenous robotic surgery company founded by eminent cardiac surgeon Dr. Sudhir Shrivastava. The Atlas brings together multiple expert contributors from across India, reflecting a rich diversity of experience and perspectives.
The HARGiS Table of Contents spans 10 comprehensive sections, covering the fundamentals of robotic GI surgery, upper GI, bariatric, colorectal, HPB, hernia and abdominal wall reconstruction. It is further enriched by focused video sections on Tips and Tricks, Innovations, and a distinctive collection of unedited virtual live surgeries, offering learners an authentic view of real-world decision-making. At launch, the Atlas features 50 chapters and 74 operative videos, with a commitment to continuous expansion and regular updates.
Each operative video is preceded by a freely downloadable, structured chapter detailing indications, investigations, patient selection, surgical approach, OR setup diagrams, port placements, step-by-step operative technique, postoperative care, and complications. High-definition video quality, precise annotations, and expert commentary highlight critical anatomical landmarks and surgical nuances, ensuring clarity, reproducibility, and depth of understanding. Designed for global accessibility, HARGiS aims to democratize robotic surgery education and promote standardized, high-quality training worldwide.
Dr. Haribhakti, one of India’s most respected GI surgeons, brings over three decades of surgical excellence, academic leadership, and pioneering work in advanced laparoscopy and robotic GI surgery. Currently Chairman, Department of GI Surgery at Kaizen Hospital, he has performed 250+ robotic surgeries within 18 months of the Atlas launch using the SSi Mantra platform—underscoring the Atlas’s strong foundation in real-world clinical practice.
HARGiS also includes a dedicated patient education section, “Know GI Diseases,” enhancing awareness and understanding of gastrointestinal disorders. Together, these elements position HARGiS as a transformative initiative—advancing surgical education today and shaping the future of robotic GI surgery globally
