Kwiebel is a quiet game about a small animal that lives with you.
You feed it, wash it, stroke it, and watch it potter about your home. It grows on real time: the baby you take in today will be fully grown in a couple of weeks. In the evening the light turns warm and it puts itself to bed — in its basket indoors, or in the kennel out in the garden.
You decorate your home yourself. Put your furniture where you like, turn it, move it around. The cosier it gets, the more Acorns you earn each day. Those save up for something lovely: a swing for the garden, a bookcase, a woven wall hanging. The finest pieces take weeks of saving, and that is on purpose.
There is a garden and a vegetable patch as well. Sow fourteen kinds of crop, water them, harvest them and sell them at your own market stall — or feed them to your pet. Down by the stream you can fish: twenty-two species live there, and eleven of them only bite between nine in the evening and six in the morning. Catch them all and you earn something that is not for sale in any currency.
There is no way to lose. Your pet never gets ill, never dies, and is never cross with you for staying away a day. No countdown timers, no lives, no loot boxes, no chance mechanics of any kind.
