Ledger Pine Sums is a quiet logic puzzle built on Kakurasu, a grid where you never write a single digit. You only decide which cells carry a mark, and a mark takes its whole value from where it stands.

Column numerals run along the top of the sheet and row numerals down the left side. A mark in column 2 of row 3 is worth 2 toward the total printed at the end of its row, and 3 toward the total printed under its column. Balance every row total and every column total at the same time and the page is settled.

WHAT IS INSIDE
- Three sheet sizes: a brisk 5 x 5, a considered 7 x 7, and a full 9 x 9 folio.
- Every page is generated fresh and then checked by a solver, so each one has exactly one balanced arrangement. There is never anything to guess.
- Three cell states: blank, marked, or ruled out with a cross for the cells you have already eliminated.
- Live running totals beside every printed figure. They turn green the moment a line agrees and red the moment a line runs over.
- A weights assist: tap a row numeral to put that row under study and see which column indices still fit inside the budget you have left.
- Undo, hint, erase, and a quiet page clock.
- A record book of pages settled, fastest settlement for each sheet size, marks placed, hints taken, and total time at the desk.
- Ten clerk awards to stamp, from your first balanced page to a full hour at the ledger.

DRAWN LIKE A LEDGER
Aged accounting green, cream ruled paper, and iron ink. The board, the totals, and the explainer diagram are all drawn as vector graphics, so the page stays crisp on every screen size. Portrait only, easy on the eyes, and comfortable in one hand.

COMPLETELY OFFLINE
No internet permission is requested and there is no network code in the app at all. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is measured, no account is needed, no adverts appear, and there are no purchases of any kind. Your figures are written to your own device and they stay there.

NO SOUND AT ALL
The app is silent by design. It will never play anything through your speakers and it will never interrupt your music or your podcast. Feedback is visual, with an optional gentle haptic tap that you can switch off in the Sizes tab.

GOOD FOR
Commutes with no signal, flights, waiting rooms, a coffee break, or winding down at the end of a long day. Kakurasu sharpens mental arithmetic and careful deduction without anything hurrying you along: the clock records your pace, it never pushes it.
