What’s new

Smart Remote+ now controls Hisense and Toshiba VIDAA TVs — the Hisense sets sold outside the US — joining LG, Samsung, Sony and Google TV. Enter the code on screen for power, volume, the D-pad, plus your inputs and apps read from the TV itself. New Screen Sleep section: set a timer and the TV's screen turns off while the sound keeps playing, so you can fall asleep to a programme without the panel lit. Pick 15 minutes to 2 hours; it keeps running with the app closed. LG and Sony TVs.
