About this app

Kiɗa (pronounced kee-dah) is a mobile studio for musicians who build tracks out of loops and play them live. Load loops onto a pad grid, lock them to a tempo, add drums and drones on top, and perform the whole thing from your phone — then save it as a setlist and take it to the stage.

GAPLESS LOOPING, LAUNCHED ON THE BAR
Every loop change lands exactly on the bar line. Kiɗa preloads the next loop on a standby player and swaps it at the boundary, so there's no gap, no click and no drift — the launch quantisation you'd expect from desktop software, on a phone.

TEMPO WITHOUT PITCH SHIFT
Nudge the BPM up or down and the playing loop follows immediately. Time-stretching is pitch-preserving from 0.25x to 4x, so a 90 BPM loop and a 140 BPM loop can share a session and stay in tune.

9 DRUM PADS
Load a kit and play drums live over your loops. Assign any sample to any pad, colour-code your layout, and switch kits mid-session without losing your setup.

12 DRONE KEYS
A chromatic row of sustained drone tones, C through B — for tuning up, for practising over a tonal centre, or for laying a bed under a performance. Sharps or flats, your call.

PLAY IT WITH REAL HARDWARE
Connect a USB or Bluetooth MIDI controller. Drum pads and drone keys ship with sensible default note mappings (C1–G#1 and C2–B2), and MIDI Learn lets you remap any pad, key or control to whatever your controller sends. Your mappings are saved with the setlist and survive kit changes.

A REAL MIXER
Per-pad volume, stereo pan, mute and solo, plus a master fader. The metronome covers 11 time signatures from 2/4 to 12/8, with adjustable volume and a 1x or 2x tick rate.

SETLISTS
Save a whole session — pads, loops, per-pad BPM and time signature, mixer state, metronome settings and your MIDI map — as a single setlist file. Load it back instantly at the next rehearsal or the next gig.

EXPORT TO ABLETON LIVE
Finished sketching on the phone? Export a setlist as an Ableton Live project and pick it up on the desktop.

A LIBRARY THAT WORKS OFFLINE
Browse loops, drum kits and drone pads by genre or keyword. Favourite what you like, preview before you commit, and download for offline use — downloads are encrypted on device. Bring your own material too: import audio from your device and drop it straight onto a pad.
