About this app
Has something gone wrong with dinner? That is the moment we built this for.
We are Dan Burrell and Steven Snowdon, and we have spent our working lives fixing food under pressure. Between us we have cooked at the Ritz, for Tom Kerridge, and at Galvin La Chapelle, Chapter One and Aqua Shard. We have won a National Chef Team gold medal and spent more years on a hot pass than either of us cares to count. We left all of it to work on home kitchens instead.
WHEN IT GOES WRONG
Tell the app what has happened, whether it is a sauce that has split, rice that has gone claggy or chicken you have taken too far. You will get the fix in plain English, in the order you need to do it, and nobody will lecture you about it.
WHEN THE FRIDGE LOOKS EMPTY
It usually is not empty. Tell us what is in there and we will build you something worth eating out of it. Most weeks that is the difference between cooking and ordering in.
ALLERGIES AND INTOLERANCES
Set what your household cannot eat and the app will hold onto it. Every recipe and every rescue we give you is built around that list, and we will flag the allergens we can see in a dish before you start cooking. It does not replace the label on the packet, and we will always tell you to check, because we would rather be the app that nags you than the one that got it wrong.
BARCODE SCANNING
Scan your shopping as it comes out of the bags and the app will know what you have, so you never need to type an ingredient in.
MACROS
Protein, carbs and fat are tracked in the same place you are cooking, which means you will not need a second app open on the counter.
EATING WELL FOR LESS
The weekly shop has turned into a negotiation for most people. We will show you the swaps that work, the cheaper cuts worth buying and the seasonal produce while it is at its best. Some of the finest food we have ever cooked started with the cheapest thing in the shop.
WHAT THIS IS NOT
This is not a recipe library you scroll through at midnight, a meal plan you abandon by Wednesday, or a generic database with a chef's face on the front of it. Everything here is the way the two of us actually cook, written so that anyone can follow it.
WHO IT IS FOR
We built this for the family counting every pound, for the parent running the whole show on no sleep, for the beginner who has never trusted themselves at a stove, and for the confident cook who wants a second opinion at eight o'clock on a Tuesday.
