About this app

Pagehear reads your own documents aloud, and none of them ever leave your phone.

Add a PDF, an EPUB or a text file and your phone reads it to you, with the sentence it is saying sitting on the screen. Playback continues with the screen off, with controls on the lock screen, and a sleep timer that stops at the end of a sentence rather than mid-word.

Even scanned pages play. pagehear recognises the text on a photographed or scanned page entirely on the device, so old paper documents and image-only PDFs work too.

TRY THE AIRPLANE MODE

Turn on airplane mode, import a scanned page, and press play. It works, because everything happens on the phone: reading, recognition and speech. Pagehear has no server and no account, and the app makes no network connection of its own.
