Klang-Regenbogen — Discover music with all your senses
Klang-Regenbogen gently introduces children to music through colors, sounds and movement. Every note gets its own color — based on the well-known Boomwhacker color system — so children can see, hear and grasp sounds long before they can read music.
Through colorful, easy-to-understand exercises, children explore notes and their colors, echo sounds back, and get moving with body percussion. There is no "wrong" and no time pressure — only encouragement, little stars as rewards, and the good feeling of having achieved something.
What Klang-Regenbogen offers:
🎨 Colored notes based on the Boomwhacker system — see and hear music
🥁 Body percussion to join in: clap, pat, stomp, snap
🎤 Sing- and play-along feature: the microphone recognizes notes — children hear and see whether they match the right sound
⭐ Gentle, encouraging feedback — no pressure and no "wrong"
🧩 Playful exercises for listening, a sense of rhythm and concentration
♿ Designed to be accessible: screen reader support (TalkBack), color-blind mode, animations you can switch off
Educational background
The app is inspired by proven music-education approaches (including Orff and Kodály) and combines hearing, seeing and movement — the way children learn most naturally.
Privacy & offline
Klang-Regenbogen works without an internet connection. No personal data is collected and nothing is sent to a cloud. The microphone is used solely for note recognition directly on the device — nothing is recorded, stored or transmitted.
Who is it for?
For children at home, in daycare and at music school — even with no prior musical knowledge at all.
Klang-Regenbogen is the child-friendly app from the Maikstrings family of music and circle-of-fifths apps.
