Lightning Launcher Revival is more than a replacement home screen. It is a deeply customizable launcher and programmable environment for building an Android interface around the way you work.

Most launchers ask you to choose between a few predefined layouts. Lightning gives you the tools to create your own. Place items on a grid or position them freely. Resize, rotate, overlap, group, style, and automate them. Build a simple traditional home screen, a compact productivity dashboard, an experimental spatial interface, or something entirely personal.

Lightning’s desktop system supports apps, Android shortcuts, widgets, folders, panels, files, notes, web links, search tools, embedded app drawers, and other specialized item types. Containers can be nested to organize complex layouts while keeping frequently used content close at hand.

3D Containers offer an entirely different way to present and navigate items. Arrange content on interactive rings, helixes, carousels, spheres, or cube faces, with configurable perspective, depth, rotation, spacing, animation, and interaction behavior.

Nearly every part of an item’s appearance can be customized:

- Labels, fonts, colors, alignment, shadows, and text strokes
- Icons, scaling, reflections, color effects, masks, and outlines
- Per-state normal, selected, and focused appearances
- Box margins, borders, padding, backgrounds, corners, custom border strokes, and glows
- Grid, scrolling, snapping, wallpaper, and container behavior
- Independent desktop layouts for different purposes

Lightning’s scripting engine turns the launcher into a programmable runtime environment. JavaScript can respond to taps, gestures, item events, desktop changes, lifecycle events, and other launcher activity. Scripts can inspect and modify desktops, containers, items, properties, variables, and actions through Lightning’s native API.

The enhanced Script Editor provides syntax highlighting, code folding, search, autocomplete assistance, a methods panel, script organization, workspaces, snapshots, history, and integrated access to the API reference. Bindings offer a lighter automation option by connecting item properties to formulas and changing values without requiring a full script.

Revival includes a searchable Lightning Guide that works completely offline. It explains launcher concepts, settings, item types, editing tools, customization features, backup and restore behavior, and common workflows. Complete searchable Script API documentation is also bundled with the app, so help remains available directly on the device while designing or debugging a setup.

Backup, restore, templates, and style inheritance make complex configurations practical to maintain and reuse. Revival can also migrate compatible backups from legacy Lightning Launcher releases, preserving the work of long-time users while moving internal launcher actions to the Revival application.

Lightning can be as straightforward or as elaborate as you want it to be. Its advanced tools stay out of the way until needed, while its underlying flexibility remains available whenever a conventional launcher is no longer enough.
