Learn DBT skills and practise them in everyday life
Want to prepare for a difficult conversation, explore your feelings or take a mindful pause? Marcus'Mend helps you learn and practise skills from Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
The app combines explanations with guided exercises. Choose a familiar skill, start with an everyday situation or use the emotion compass to find a starting point.
YOUR TOOLS
• Emotion compass: Explore feelings such as fear, anger and sadness and discover related practice options.
• Step-by-step training: Work through skills using prompts and your own notes. Practise expressing your needs with DEAR MAN, maintaining relationships with GIVE or protecting your self-respect with FAST.
• Practice scenarios: Apply what you have learned to everyday situations and use the examples as a starting point for your training.
• Practice questions: Check your understanding with quizzes and read explanations of the answers.
• Mindful pause: Make time for guided breathing and mindfulness exercises.
• DBT lexicon: Look up terms and explore the methods in more detail.
The skill selection includes 6 bundles and 32 individual skills covering mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation and interpersonal effectiveness. Examples include TIPP, STOP, Radical Acceptance, Check the Facts and Opposite Action.
