As an Emby Premier customer, I am perpetually disappointed with this app. Downloading media for offline consumption is absolutely broken and worthless. Despite having Android Auto support, it can't seem to remember basic settings like shuffle and repeat between drives, but can remember those settings on the phone directly. I've been a long time supporter, and I'm beginning to think I'm going to have to look at alternatives like Jellyfin moving forward.

The server software is just top notch - 5 stars all day. The web app and TV interface work really well too. So far the only real hiccup I am having is with music playback with extremely large playlists. But I know I will get help because I posted on the forum. The community is very friendly and helpful, and that includes the developers chiming in frequently. If you do decide to buy, I recommend you go the lifetime route instead of monthly. 20 months is all it takes to amortize the cost.

Overall, the app is excellent but has just recently started having errors. Emby on Android 13 will no longer keep playing music when the screen is dark. It will play one track and then stop playing until the screen is accessed again. I hope this is resolved soon.
