I think the MBTA app works great. The new version is an improvement over the old one. The schedule is accurate. Buying a ticket is very easy. When you have to change your payment method it is quite clear how to make that happen. The app has user warnings to confirm that you are doing what you want to do. It has never frozen while I'm using it. The user interface is attractive and easy to navigate. In short, it is a very convenient way to keep your ticket always handy and available. I highly recommend it and encourage those who haven't taken advantage of this method to give it a try. It will save you both time and trouble.
I started working in Boston and I installed this app for my monthly pass. Overall the app works great. But; when I needed to transfer the mticket over to a new phone that I bought, customer service was horrible. I called the phone number that was listed and the person I talked to said they could not help me out. When I sent an email to them I got no response. So now I have to pay for a fare up to Boston to get a monthly pass that I alreaady paid for transferred. UPDATE: 12/22/16: Just an FYI for those with a rooted phone. I have CyanogenMod on my rooted Samsung Galaxy S4 and when I went to update it, it would not let me via Google playstrore. I got a message saying that the app was not compatible with my version. I was, however, able to download the .apk and install it manually.
Used to work fine but now I'm not longer to purchase tickets using this app. I called customer service and was told to uninstall, delete from Samsung storage, reinstall and sign back in, and the problem would go away. Did all that, still not able to purchase a ticket.
It is convenient But doesn't work on Android 7.1, crashes when trying to use ticket and infinite loading on everything else, guess I'm back to paying cash
Worked fine under Android 6.*, however on Android 7.1.1 I am unable to purchase tickets or login to my account. Just infinite loading, and the app is unresponsive. I'll return my review to 5-stars when the app works again...
